Silkworms and Life Cycles

Our silkworms have cocooned!

The silkworms hatched from their tiny eggs in April (eggs that we saved from our silkworm moths last year). At first they were tiny black eye lash size but they grew fast and became big white silkworms with funny faces and a ferocious appetites. They have now cocooned and we are now waiting to see their transformation into moths. After they emerge they will quickly get to work laying new eggs. I’m crossing my fingers that it will happen in the next few days!
